What is U2Charist?

A U2Charist is a communion service or Eucharist, accompanied by U2 songs in lieu of traditional hymns. The U2Charist was initially started in the US Episcopal Church but has been adapted by several other denominations. It is a service for all ages that features the music of the rock band U2 and a call to rally around the Millennium Development Goals.

The U2Charist is a great opportunity to reach out to our communities with U2’s messages of global reconciliation, justice for the poor and oppressed, and the importance of caring for your neighbor. The U2Charist planned at St Stephen's will benefit the ONE organization by raising awareness and all offerings given during the event will be donated to PlayPumps International.

PlayPumps International's mission is help improve the lives of children and their families by providing easy access to clean drinking water, enhancing public health, and offering play equipment to millions across Africa. We hope you can join us for this inspirational event. Refreshments will be served at the conclusion of the service.
