Programs
The Mission & Outreach ministry is very active in a number of programs. Here is the short, but not exhaustive, list of them:
- Our Father's Table - feeding program located in Marlborough on the 5th Monday of the month (approximately 4 times a year).
- Common Cathedral - held on the Boston Common as part of the Ecclesia Ministries outreach program to the homeless. We participate often by bringing in soup and sandwiches.
- City Reach - the educational branch of the Ecclesia Ministries. It gives young people a chance to learn about homelessness from people who care or who have been homeless. A group of 13 youth and adults from St Stephen's recently participated on March 20-21, 2009.
- Interfaith Hospitality Network - We host families who have found themselves temporarily without a home and are placed through the program network. We provide shelter in the church parish house and daily meals.
- Francis Perkins Baby Shower - Francis Perkins Shelter is for unwed mothers.
- Department of Youth Services - Bringing holiday cheer to young men who have found themselves incarcerated here in Westborough.
- Abby's House - we collect household goods and toiletries that are needed.
- Worcester Veteran's Shelter - we collect towels for the those living at the shelter
- Westborough Food Pantry - making sure that the canned food parishioners donate to the weekly Red Wagon gets to where is is needed.
- Giving Tree - providing seasonal giving to those facing giftless holidays, usually in connection with the Worcester Salvation Army.
- Christmas Caroling - seasonal cheer to our own parishioners who have become shut-in.
We also provide financial assistance to local state and national organizations.
