On September 17th we celebrated the 10th Anniversary of Fr. Jesse’s ordination. 10 years is certainly a milestone. We are so grateful for his ministry, his calling to the priesthood, and his service to St. Stephen’s. Traditionally, a 10th anniversary is celebrated with a gift of tin or aluminum. However, that didn’t inspire us as a theme for a celebration. So, after the service on Sunday we gathered in the Parish Hall and celebrated Fr. Jesse with a delicious cake and toasted him with mimosas, a light festive drink of champagne and orange juice. We also had sparkling soda and juice for those who preferred that. The atmosphere was happy and festive and as one parishioner said to me, “I so appreciate an Episcopal church that serves spirits during coffee hour.” Well, at least on this one special day we did. Congratulations Fr. Jesse! We thank you for your ministry and we thank God that He has placed you with us at St. Stephen’s!
